A Toast to Springtime Traditions April 08, 2015 01:07
Here at Kusak Cut Glass Works, we love the traditions of springtime, and after 100 years in business we have our own fair share of quirky traditions to go around. One of our favorites is egg-standing around the Spring equinox:
Although the scientific correlation between the equinox and ability to stand eggs on end may be questionable, it is a fun activity that requires concentration and hand-eye coordination. This year, Chuck Kusak's egg remained standing for more than 10 days!
Two other traditions to be enjoyed in early springtime are Easter weekend and the opening day of Major League Baseball.
Easter is such a wonderful time for family gathering and gratitude - a spiritually significant holiday for many faiths, and a wonderful weekend for relaxation and observation. Of course, a few pieces of fine crystal always make a perfect match for your Easter gathering or brunch, and sunny Seattle springtime days make crystal glassware absolutely sparkle:
Also springtime ushers in the opening day of major league baseball and new championship hopes for our beloved Seattle Mariners:
There's nothing like a classic, crystal champagne coupe to toast to the victories of any season. :-)
And, while we make progress on our online store - please know that our in-store selection of beautiful crystal glassware is *much* larger than what is available online. We specialize in premium, custom-made, custom-designed items of the finest crystal and glass - so please contact us if you have any questions or special projects.
In the meantime, like any good 100-year-old we're slowly starting to pick up on the nuances of the Twitterverse and social media - so please follow us there or for our ongoing updates via Facebook.
In the meantime - best wishes, and cheers to Spring!
